First Robotics Club

Our High School, E.J. Wilson, is part of an internationally growing program called FIRST Robotics. FIRST stands for: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. Spencerport’s Ranger Robotics Team, Team 3015, is a team for all types of students. This program offers a place for students interested in engineering, computer programming, computer aided drawing (design), hands on mechanical work, marketing and promotions, and leadership roles. There are numerous scholarship opportunities available to FIRST Robotic team members. Members have received scholarships from from many colleges including Rochester Institute of Technology, The University of Rochester, Clarkson University, Florida Institute of Technology, and Johnson and Wales.

Team 3015 consists of over 70 students, 2 high school technology teachers, and 15 adult mentors from industry. The team works closely with the community, local businesses, parents and engineers and runs several community service events per year. The FIRST Robotics program is a great way for students to apply math, science and technology when designing a robot to complete a specific task.
