Co-op - Cooperative Education

Students are in paid positions with companies. The emphasis is on allowing students to use and improve their transferable work skills. Supervisors who agree to be "Co-op" supervisors provide feedback by completing a transferable work skills appraisal feedback is given at least two times during the year.  This feedback/communication is an important piece in the process of building a stronger employee. Students earn a paycheck while earning school credit.
  • Students attend a classroom seminar once every 4 days.
  • To earn 1 credit, students must work a minimum of 300 hours.
  • (With a 40-week school year, this equates to approximately 7 – 8 hrs./week.)

CEIP - Career Exploration Internship Program

Students earn credit by interning outside the classroom. This program allows and requires the student to explore 4 different careers within the school year.
  • Minimum of 120 internship hours for credit.
  • Maximum of 37.5 hours with any one mentor.
  • Students attend work experience seminar once every four days
With each student meeting and interning 4 different mentors in the year, community support is the key.

(for seniors only)

Both Co-op and CEIP students are eligible to apply for a School-to-Career scholarship near the end of the school year. Employer input is required.
